Faecal incontinence is a common condition, mainly affecting women which can have a significant affect on their quality of life. We are currently limited in what treatment options we have to treat this problem. Sacral nerve simulation has been shown to have a significant beneficial effect on those patients who respond to this treatment.Currently, we will see between 60 - 80 patients a year with faecal incontinence of which only about 20-30 who may require Sacral nerve simulation. Approximately 50% of these will respond to simulation. Therefore on average we will need to provide 10-15 implants a year.Estimated value excluding VAT: 240 000 GBP
