The OFT is inviting bids to prepare a study on the European Unfair Terms Directive (UTD), with the aim of building a more uniform understanding of the UTD, its scope, purpose and constituents, amongst the bodies responsible for its enforcement within the Consumer Protection Co-operation (CPC) system. The study will form part of a programme of work in which the OFT is co-ordinating the activities of consumer enforcement bodies from 12 EU and EFTA States with a view to developing a European unfair terms enforcement strategy. This project will afford the successful bidder the opportunity to work with the enforcement agencies, drawing on their expertise to explore concepts in the UTD and how they are applied in different EU / EFTA States. In addition to preparing a written study report for publication, we will require the successful bidder to do: - An introductory presentation and to participate in a preliminary discussion with the participating authorities regarding the proposed coverage and project plan for the study, at a workshop in London in March 2013 - A presentation of the draft study report and question and answer session, at a workshop in Riga in June 2013.
