DFID Uganda is implementing an HIV/AIDS Prevention Programme worth Â£16.3 million over four years to December 2014. Within this programme, DFID will provide financial support for a service provider to establish and implement responsibilities of a KMCC over a 3 year pilot period. The KMCC will: Store and archive data bases, research findings and analytical work pertaining to the HIV epidemic; Synthesise, compare and analyse available data including bio-medical and social science research findings on HIV; Distil and disseminate key evidence and messages to policy makers and practitioners; Facilitate evidence-based policy making through dissemination and debate via media, workshops and dialogue with stakeholders. Identify capacity building needs at the different levels of knowledge management and provide training so as to improve generation, storage and sharing of strategic programme information on the multi-sectoral HIV response Provide specific capacity building support to the Uganda AIDS Commission for development of its documentation centre (NADIC)
