The Air Platform Systems Project Team (APS PT) manages the Successor Identification Friend or Foe (SIFF) system through life. As part of this process a Safety and Environmental Management Plan (SEMP) is in place to ensure that safety and environmental issues are correctly considered. This system conforms to the overall APS PT Safety and Environmental Management System (SEMS). A periodic independent review is required to ensure that the SIFF SEMP continues to conform to the APS SEMS. REQUIREMENT The contractor is required to provide an independent safety and environment audit of the Safety and Environment documents for the SIFF Project. This will be achieved by conducting an independent safety and environment audit of the APS PT SIFF SEMP, the SIFF Safety Case Reports for the 4810 air transponder and the RT-1019 naval transponder, and the Procedures for compliance with the requirements of the APS SEMS, POSMS and POEMS. The following sets out the tasks that need to be undertaken by an external Safety expert to ensure that the APS PT meets its legal requirements and applies the Secretary of State for Defence Safety and Environmental Policy published in JSP 375 to the activities of the PT. a. Review the existing SIFF SEMP and comment on whether it continues to meet the needs of the APS PT SEMS. b. Audit the Safety Case Reports for the 4810 air transponder and the RT-1019 naval transponder. c. Audit the SIFF Environmental Case. d. Propose and draft any changes required to APS PT Safety and Environmental documentation. e. Provide a written report detailing the conclusions of the independent safety and environmental audits.
