NHS SBS is acting on behalf of the 23 Primary Care Trusts and 1 Care Trust Plus in the North West (NHS Ashton, Leigh and Wigan, Blackburn with Darwen Care Trust Plus, NHS Blackpool, NHS Bolton, NHS Bury, NHS Central and Eastern Cheshire, NHS Central Lancashire, NHS Cumbria, NHS East Lancashire, NHS Halton and St Helens, NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale, NHS Knowsley, Liverpool PCT, NHS Manchester, NHS North Lancashire, NHS Oldham, NHS Salford, NHS Sefton, NHS Stockport, NHS Tameside and Glossop, NHS Trafford, NHS Warrington, NHS Western Cheshire and NHS Wirral) these are the current Contracting Authorities for which there may be successor organisations as part of the current NHS reforms. The Contracting Authorities are seeking to add Providers to the North West Framework Agrreement to provide Social, Personal, and Nursing Care Services for Adults within a Residential Setting ('Care Home' services). Suitable Providers may be care homes (residential care homes and nursing homes) as well as independent hospitals, or any other provider that can meet the requirements set out in the Service Specification for Social, Personal and Nursing Care Services for Adults. This is a framework agreement process and NHS SBS will seek to identify all suitably qualified providers on behalf of the Contracting Authorities to deliver the services outlined in the Service Specification. It offers no guaranteed level of activity or payment to any of the successful providers. All providers who wish to provide the services are invited to apply and must be able to demonstrate compliance with the application criteria. For providers who fail to meet the application criteria the first time of applying or for any new entrants to the market during the life of the framework agreement, the application process will be opened at 6 monthly intervals and advertised accordingly. This current procurement is the second such 're-opening'. As the services being procured under this framework agreement will be part B services, for the purposes of the Public Regulations 2006, the Contracting Authorities and its agent NHS SBS will ensure that they are carried out in accordance with the principles of openness, transparency, equal treatment and nondiscrimination.

Contract value: All successful providers will be awarded a place on the North West Framework Agreement which will be accessible by all the current Contracting Authorities and successor organisations in order to award business to providers in line with the requirements detailed in the Service Specification.Estimated value excluding VAT: 240 000 000 GBP
