The Authority is inviting tenders for the Provision of Investment, Advisory and Consultancy Services to the Highland Council Pension Fund (the Fund), to cover the period from 1.4.2013 to 31.3.2018 with an option to extend by a further period of up to 12 months.
The Highland Council is the Administering Authority for the Highland Council Pension fund, a Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). The Fund provides pensions for those employees of the Council, Comhairle Nan Eilean Siar and of other scheduled and admitted bodies that are eligible to join. A full list of these bodies can be found within the Fund's Annual Report and Statement of Accounts (see paragraph 5.3 for links to reference materials).
The market value of the Fund's investments as at 31.3.2012 was GBP 1,024 m up from GBP 981,7 m at 31.3.2011. The Fund has 11,515 Contributors, 6,955 Pensioners and 7,534 Deferred Pensioners. The most recent actuarial valuation was as at 31.3.2011, which showed a funding level of 97 %.
The annual value of total expenditure against this Contract is currently estimated at approximately GBP 9,500 for attendance at meetings and GBP 15,600 for additional services. This is based upon a routine year, supporting the Fund and the Committee/Sub-Committee, and excluding any major exercises such as manager changes and selection which would be additional expenditure. The Council is not bound to any volume or value of additional services required under this Contract.
