GB-Glasgow: CTLBC/2117 Provision of Casualty Decontamination (Permanent & Wet) Facilities to Chemical, Biological, Radiological & Nuclear Training Team.

Two packages of work are available which Suppliers can bid for one or both packages. Package 1 - Provision of Permanent Wet Casualty Decontamination Facility for the enhancement of the delivery of training to the CBRN Medical Training Team. Critical elements: Non-ambulatory (stretcher) lane / channel (dual-role for walking) / Warm water provision / Waste water pump and containment / Casualty conveyer (minimal manual handling) / Re-robe area / Extractor fans / Internal lighting / Minimum surface area of 30m3 / Unit to be available by end of March 2013 Desirable Simulated airlock / Disrobe area / Additional walking lane – channel / Temporary barrier between lanes (if two lanes) to allow observers / External lighting / Deployable as a container Package 2 – Provision of a Mobile wet casualty decontamination facility requiring equipment with military application (but where applicable, training interoperability with the NHS decontamination capability). Critical elements: Non-ambulatory (stretcher) lane - channel (dual-role for walking) / Additional walking lane – channel / Warm water provision / Waste water pump and containment / Casualty conveyer (minimal manual handling) for non-ambulatory lane / Extractor fans / Internal lighting / Unit to be available by end of March 2013 / Deployable within 10 minutes with 2 persons Desirable Disrobe area / Re-robe area / External lighting / Deployable within 5 minutes / Self-erecting / Water (pre-use) storage for use of unit for up to one hour CBRN Medical Training seeks to enhance the delivery of training using a blended learning approach & supports the development of distributed (distance) learning, clinical simulation, casualty decontamination training and bespoke training solutions. DCBRNC runs a Casualty Decontamination Area (CDA) course and an additional training requirement has been identified for medics to undergo casualty decontamination training including wet decontamination using the principle of casualty hazard management/cleansing using a permanent and mobile equipped training facility. Where possible, suppliers are to be aligned with the NHS due to potential cross-government collaboration and joint training delivery.”
