Taxi & Courier Services

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) intends to tender for Taxi and Courier Services on behalf of its hospitals, GP Premises and/or Sexual Health Premises (Umbrella) located within the Birmingham and / or outer Birmingham region. The majority of Trust Taxi activity is within the West Midlands Region. Following the acquisition of the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust on 1.4.2018, our hospitals include: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Edgbaston), Good Hope Hospital (Sutton Coldfield), Solihull Hospital and Birmingham Heartlands Hospital (East Birmingham). Taxi and Courier services shall include the movement of staff, patients, specimens (Category B) and medical equipment / devices on the same day and / or next day basis. Courier services may include UK and International collection / delivery. The Trust is considering awarding contracts to 1 or more providers dependent upon capacity, experience and value for money. Contract duration: minimum 3 years. Prior to any future procurement process, UHB wishes to engage with interested providers to seek views on the requirement, potential lots / service delivery options. A questionnaire and copy of the draft specification shall be published in advance for comment. (This will be published beginning of August). Service Providers will have an an opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification where necessary. Accordingly, potential providers are invited to a Supplier Information Event to be held at 10.00am Thursday 23rd August 2018. The event will be held in Lecture Theatre 2, Education Centre, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Mindelsohn Way, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B15 2WB. There will be presentations and questions between 10.00 and 12.30pm Service Providers interested in attending the Supplier Information Event should register in accordance with the instructions below stated in the 'Additional Text' paragraph of this notice. The registration questionnaire requests the following information: a) Supplier Information; b) Contact details for a maximum of two attendees; c) A single paragraph description including the nature of the organisation and relevant experience; d) Data Protection statement (see below) UHB wishes to share the information provided in the registration questionnaire with other participants in order to promote discussion and assist with the formation of partnerships where service providers wish to do so."
